There's a woman on the television day and night, foaming at the mouth, a housewife hero, fresh and white.
But is she happy with her wash, now free of all suspicious stains? No, she's happy cause she's getting cash for washing all our brains, that soak up all the shit they can see and all the lies they can't , and wonder why they want to cry when all the money's spent. On modern cons and sterile dreams, and germ free kids, the bright white lies, of a consumption choked society with gleaming teeth ,and screaming eyes.
Chorus:
Cover up the cracks and now put on a brave new face,
so you can sell your soul and join the new improved in-human race.
In making cash from trash, the new machine is running very well,
because the bright ,white, shiny system ,has wasted lives to sell....
The goods held up for imitation, rammed down eager throats
Clean living, pretty plastic dolls, with brilliant glossy coats.
That cover all the dirt and filth, and truth, the TV pushes.
Say deodorize, and scrub and wipe unpleasantness away.
And with a pill for every ill, improper thoughts are kept in line,
Bow down, pay up,and then you too,can have a corpse like mine.
Conforming to the bright white standard, straight and narrow till you die,
It's wasted lives they're selling, AND WE'RE QUEUING UP TO BUY!
Asylum were a Punk band from Belfast Northern Ireland. They formed around 1981 and split around 1988.
In 1985 they
recorded a 15 track Demo album. In 1986 they recorded an additional 5 tracks for the "We will be free " album with fellow Belfast bands Stalag 17 and Toxic waste. That album was released on Conflicts' Mortarhate label.
The bands music is hardcore punk with an anarchic sense of humour....more

I got into the Subhumans via a cassette tape that was available via the excellent New Crimes Fanzine back in 1981.
These songs remind me of that excellent and then new grassroots anarchist punk period.
The said cassette tape is available on YouTube....give it a blast.
Acne, chips and peas to yas all 🤗

Excellent band, play loud and more and more. Beaucoup de souvenirs, surtout lorsque j'ai écouté leur morceaux sur la compilation Riotous assembly Mary Whithouse en 82...j'avais adoré !
Vive l'alternative, No passaran !

Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
